Abyss46
I will fuse
these two abysses,
explosive
honeyed necklaces,
poison islands
of potent
displaced
passions.
46 This final poem in Gloria Macher’s compilation, Celestial Bodies, is reminiscent of Baudelaire, insofar as it delivers an apology (so to speak) for artistic creation as a space and form – honeyed necklaces, poison islands – where our displaced passions find an outlet. Abysses. The vertiginous spaces of literature. There are two parts, two abysses, conjoined to form Celestial Bodies. Part I is Constelaciones Oprimidas. Part II is Nebulosas Errantes. Much remains to be written.
Abismo
Voy a juntar
estos dos abismos
collares explosivos
de miel
islas de venenos
poderosos
amores
desplazados
